SUMMARY:Game Design Foundations Class (lvl 1-2)
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to help young children develop develop interpersonal skills and an understanding of common game mechanics and design elements through playing a range of traditional and contemporary board games. Students use this developing understanding of game design to remix modified versions of games that reflect either their identity and interests or the identity and interests of a stakeholder they identify. SUMMARY:Blood on the Clocktower
DESCRIPTION:Do you think you have what it takes to find the demon hiding amongst you and save yourselves from its evil plans? Come one\, come all for Blood on the Clocktower! \nThis event is limited to 15 people - first-in\, first-served!  Games will only proceed with a minimum of 8 players. \nIf you're not sure how to play don't worry\, the game has simple to follow rules and our experienced game host will ease you in to the game and support you throughout. \nPlease note the game content is not suitable for younger players\, this is an 18yr+ event. \n$5 per person with a $5 minimum food or drink purchase\, $10 without. \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game with players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a 'night' time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. Use all your powers of deduction and deception to survive this game of murder and mystery. \nThe Storyteller uses the game's intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. The tension and excitement builds for everyone as the bodies of victims pile ever higher...This unique game event involves each player taking on a new persona. \nBook your place in the link below: \n\nBookings \n\nGAME INTRO:\nIn the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you... \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. \nThe townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. \nA Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. \nIn the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you... \nWill the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nEat! Play! Love!

SUMMARY:Game Design Foundations Class (6-9yr olds) - Let's Catch the Lion (at South Library)
DESCRIPTION:We're thrilled to by collaborating with the fantastic team at the Christchurch City Library Service. Together\, we're bringing our Game Design Foundation classes for 6-9yr olds to Christchurch's libraries starting this June! \nOur classes help young minds develop interpersonal skills and grasp common game mechanics and design elements through traditional and contemporary board games. Designed and led by qualified New Zealand teaching staff\, these sessions foster a passion for non-digital gaming while honing pro-social skills like cooperation and problem-solving. \nThis class is designed to help young children develop interpersonal skills and an understanding of common game mechanics and design elements through playing a range of traditional and contemporary board games. Students use this developing understanding of game design to remix modified versions of games that reflect either their identity and interests or the identity and interests of a stakeholder they identify. \nThe experience of playing games\, reflecting on the experience and making changes to enhance the experience is intended to foster a passion for non-digital gaming and develop pro-social skills (helping\, caring\, cooperating) and cognitive competencies (problem solving\, reasoning). This class has been designed and is hosted by qualified New Zealand teaching staff. \nClasses are $7.50 per child per class. Spaces are limited to 8 participants per class\, so booking ahead is recommended. \nIf you have any enquiries about these classes please email us at info@meepleopolis.com. \nLet’s Make Learning Fun! \nEat!
